ReBOOT Courage...
This website is a total commitment to changing the words we think, rehearse and translate into action. If you read the “About" section you know that this endeavor was formed from my personal experiences and the desire to change my words and share how this word changing journey can move others to rebuild, renew and re-purpose the words we hear, accept and consequently live.
Courage is a tenacious thing that requires unwavering determination. When faced with the challenges of life our level of courage is often dictated by the enormity of the fight we face, the feelings associated with the challenge and our belief in ourselves or the resources at our disposal. The problem with relying on those things is they are largely determined by the words we have accepted and should have rejected. Below are few ways to readjust our courage compass and activities to increase our courage so that our ability to have courage in the face of obstacles is not limited by our "current reality" or dictated by our preconceived ideas of the strength of our opponent but in our own strength to prevail.
"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear’. You have to decide whether you’re going to become a warrior - or a worrier." Mark Twain
ACTIVITY – Click on the house below to connect you to the courage activity. This house represents your mind and the various entry points that words (both positive and negative) enter. I want you to identify "your" main entry points. Think about how you typically receive negative information and also think of who these messages come from. These are different for every person. Identify your entry points and then guard them by identifying and doing things that counteract their power. You see, it is absolutely possible for trouble to be all around you and not get inside of you. Imagine your mind as a fortress with well-guarded entry points.

"But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved." Hebrews 10:39

God Factor: In Judges 6:11 we find Gideon hiding in a winepress. He was afraid of the Midianites. Each year after the Israelite's planted their harvest the Midianites would come and terrorize them and ravish their land. An angel came to Gideon while this was happening and greeted him with "The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” Remember that we find this "mighty warrior" hiding from the fight. Gideon also seems confused with this greeting because he tells the angel basically, you have the wrong person, I'm from a weak clan and I'm the youngest.
Gideon was afraid, but he learned to put his trust in the Lord. Despite his dread of the enemy, He eventually chose to obey God and became the courageous and victorious warrior the angel called him. The greatest courage of all is showing courage in the face of fear. Someone said, ‘Courage is just fear that has said its prayers.’ When you know you have heard clearly from God, it puts steel in your spine. Then, as you move out in faith, you will encounter more Midianites or _________________( fill in the blank with the thing you fear) . You may even be immobilized by the unknown fears...the ‘what ifs’. ...So when bad things happen, you will either give in to fear and allow it to destroy your peace and well-being, or you will become a warrior armed with God’s Word and rise up against it. When fear threatens to engulf your mind, stand up with the Psalmist and say, ‘Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You’ (Psalm 56:3 NKJV).
